2011 Mazda CX-9 – At a Glance
The 2011 Mazda CX-9 is a 7 passenger vehicle that is available in 3 trim models: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring.   The Sport model is their entry level SUV it features remote keyless entry, full power accessories, three zone automatic climate control, 18 inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth, a sound system with 6 speakers that includes a CD player. The MSRP for the Sport model starts at $29,135.

Standard Features and Options
The next level trim is the Touring. This vehicle adds leather upholstery, automatic headlights, and heated power front seats. The MSRP for the Touring model starts at $31,055.  The top of the line Grand Touring adds automatic wipers, xenon headlights, keyless ignition/entry, twenty-inch wheels, automatic wipers, metal and wood interior accents, and more.  The MSRP for the Grand Touring starts at $33,145.
The available options depend on the trim level. These options include: navigation system, sunroof, remote ignition, entertainment system, and roof rails. There’s also available an upgraded audio system.

Engine and Transmission
The 2011 Mazda CX-9 has a 3.7 liter, V6 engine that produces 273 HP and torque of 270 pound-feet. The 6 speed automatic is the only transmission available. Buyers can choose between front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). This vehicle can tow up to 3,500 pounds if properly equipped.
This Mazda’s FWD models get 17 mpg of city driving, 24 in the highway, and 19 in combined driving.  The AWD version of the CX-9 gets 16/22/19 mpg.

Safety Ratings
The 2011 Mazda CX-9 hasn’t yet been rated with the newer crash test procedures for 2011. The 2010 ratings resulted in a top 5 out of 5 star rating for both side and frontal protection. This Mazda CX-9 also won the highest rating for both side-impact and frontal – offset crash worthiness by the Insurance Institute for Highway safety.
